Third Party Fundraisers - To download a Third Party Application Agreement Form, CLICK HERE

What is a third party fundraiser? A third party activity can be defined as any fundraising initiative brought forward by an individual(s), community group, service club, or business external to the Moose Jaw Humane Society who wish to raise money through a planned activity that is designed, managed and financially resourced by the external participants.

Some ideas for third party events you can hold to benefit the MJHS are:

Bake sales (why not make some dog treats or catnip toys to sell too?)
Birthday parties, anniversaries, or other personal celebrations where guests are asked to make a donation in lieu of a gift
Lemonade stand
Garage/yard sales
Car washes or dog washes
Host a theme party, catalogue order party, or other home-based business party
Raffles, penny parade
Penny/spare change drive
Collect recyclables in a bottle drive
Wedding games (ask us about "Kisses for Kritters"!)

Please note that all applications will be submitted to our Fundraising and Promotions Coordinator for final approval, and must be received at least 30 days prior to the proposed event’s date. The Fundraising and Promotions Coordinator will contact you if there are any questions. Approval must be granted prior to holding the event. Call Karla at 692-1517 or email donations@mjhs.ca for more information.

Did you know that the Moose Jaw Humane Society offers a cat sitting service? We understand that cats are a particular sort of creature who do best in their home environments. That's why, when you're away, we come to your cat in your home! We also offer other household services, such as watering plants, feed other small pets (hamsters, fish, etc.), bringing in your paper, and turning lights on or off.

Please call the shelter for more information, 692-1517.

Kids and Pets
School Groups and Tours of the Shelter

If your group, organization, school or daycare would be interested in having a tour of the Shelter, please contact Karla at 692-1517 in advance of your visit. There must be adequate supervision for all children under the age of 18 years. Groups of 15 people and under are ideal; for larger groups, please make arrangements with the shelter.

We can also come to visit your classroom or other location, along with a furry friend, to speak to children aged 3 and up on being kind to animals, how to be a responsible pet owner, and preventing dog bites.

The Loss of a Pet

At the Moose Jaw Humane Society, we understand what it is like for you to have to say goodbye to your beloved companion and best friend. Our staff consists of dedicated people who love and care for all animals and know the grief and sorrow you are feeling when your pet passes away.

Cremation is a wonderful way to perpetuate their memory in your heart.  We are dedicated to providing caring and comforting crematory services to you and your family while you are going through the loss of your loved and valued companion.

Your cherished companion will be treated with the same care, dignity and respect that any person would expect to receive.  We absolutely guarantee that the cremains you receive back from our private cremation service will be that of your family pet and only your family pet.

Cremations are held each day of the week. Staff at the Shelter will store your beloved with the utmost care until cremations can be completed.

We would be honoured to provide you with the respectful personal service that you and your pet deserve. Please feel free to contact us to discuss the details of your personal pet cremation needs.
