hannah6

Hannah- 1 year old spayed Pitbull

Hannah would love a family that understand and supports her breed and also can appreciate she is a true clown at heart!

We defy you to find a happier little girl than Hannah! She's got a sense of humour that just doesn't quit and she lives for squeaky toys, good times and your welcoming lap. We just love watching Hannah smile and be goofy. Her happiness is ours.

Hannah has notable obedience skills and loves all of the attention she can get. When she’s not busy showing off all of her commands, you can find her curled up quietly on her comfy bed.

She can live with a well-matched male dog but Hannah must go to a home with no cats. Hannah would be best suited in a home with older children. Hannah’s adoption fee would include a private consultation with Derek Snow (No Dog Left Behind) Working with Hannah’s new family, Derek will help you work on sorting out her limits and shining up this gorgeous girl’s halo.

sharyman

Sharmyn- Adult spayed PitBull

Sharmyn is an older Pitbull that is has a wonderful soul. Sharmyn came to us needing surgery due to some trauma to her spleen and since has recovered nicely.  She is healed, happy and healthy and has been making us smile ever since!

Sharmyn is extremely friendly and full of kisses. Everyone who meets her thinks she is the happiest and friendliest girl around and is immediately in love. Despite finding herself in a difficult situation at the shelter when we first met her, Sharmyn has such a wonderful view of life, We want to find Sharmyn a home that will provide her with an overabundance of love and cherish her gentle, loving heart.

This lady is good with other well matched male dogs but is overly interested in cats, so to be safe it's best for her to have a home without felines or small breed dogs.

Titus - 3 year old nuetered Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross

Full of optimism and curiosity, Titus can't wait to get his life started with someone who loves discovery and adventure as much as he does. Titus is at the perfect age where he is calm and has great house manners but still loves playtime!

Looks aren’t the only thing this handsome man has going for him. Eager to please and having a great obedience down pat this boy would make a wonderful companion and addition to any family. Titus would love a family that would include him in all there daily activities as he enjoys nothing more than just being with his people.

If you are looking for a well mannered soul to join your family Titus is the boy for you.

trudy

Trudy - 7-10 month old female mixed breed cross

Ears? What ears? Oh THOSE ears! And that tail! This cute, fun-loving, young, energetic girl is looking for some love and a new start.

Trudy came into us as a stray so we are unsure what breed she is but we do know that she is a stunning dog. We love her pretty brindle coat and her hopeful personality. Trudy deserves a happy, warm, compassionate home, perhaps yours is the one.

Trudy is selective with her canine companions and a formal dog introduction would be necessary if there is a current dog in the home.

nikki2

Nikki- 2-3 year old spayed Mastiff cross

This lovely lady came into us as a stray.  Nikki is completely irresistible! Her huge smile, the way she prances up to you, and how she finally rests her head against you for affection draws you in and makes you fall in love. Nikki loves to play with her toys still and enjoys an afternoon play session with her new shelter friends.

Silly, tender and affectionate and never far from your side, Nikki would love a family to explore the world with. Knowing her basic manners and having a desire to please, Nikki is well on her way to being a wonderful companion.

Nikki is great in the house and settles down nicely but is always up for a long walk or run. Nikki’s personality has won all of our hearts and we know that she will have no problem winning over your heart too. We are crossing our fingers we can get this part time flirt her forever home soon.

harrison2

Harrison -1-2 year old neutered Lab Cross

Energetic and playful, this young boy greets everyone with enthusiasm, hoping to land himself a new home.  Harrison is full of life and is always on the look out for his next play date with you or one of his new K9 friends.

Harrison would benefit from continued training as he is still working on his impulse control when greet new people. This happy go lucky guy is just so excited to see everyone that he still gets a little too excited.  Harrison would love to have a well matched K9 friend to spend the days playing with.

Looking for a dog that is full of life and fancy free? Harrison would love to be part of your family!

emily4

Emily - 4- 5 Month old Lab Cross

This little girl has some get up and go - there is still so much about life she wants to know! Emily has already made some doggie friends and enjoys playing with her toys until the day’s end.

Miss Emily is practicing etiquette daily and knows how to sit and is learning to walk like a lady on leash. Emily is finding confidence in being with other dogs and is still a little unsure when first meeting new people.  We would highly recommend Emily’s new family enrolling her in group classes as she would benefit from socialization with people and other dogs.

jacob3

Jacob - 5 month old male Shephard cross

Jacob is a young boy who is way ahead of his game. Jacob is very affectionate, playful and connected. This boy walks well on a leash, knows his basic obedience and is social with all animals.

Though he is a pup due to his age, Jacob has an older soul and is very calm for his age. This boy would make a wonderful addition to any home that has other dogs, cats and kids.

We are completely smitten with this boy and are so excited to share him with another family. We invite you to come down and fall in love with Jacob!

nanook

Nanook - 3 year old neutered Husky

Love to be active and outdoors? Nanook is the boy for you!

Nanook was a found as a stray and though we do know his owners they wouldn’t take our calls and never came looking for this boy. We are now looking for a home for Nanook that will keep him safe and show him that he is an important part of the family.

This boy will wiggle his way into your heart with one meeting. He is very playful, fun and affectionate. Nanook loves to play and run and expend energy, so would be well suited to an active family. True to his breed Nonook does enjoy his time outdoors and would like nothing more than to tell you a story or two.

Nonook would do best with a female friend and a home without cats. If there is another dog in the home there would have to be a meet and greet.

How-To Adopt an Animal from the Moose Jaw Humane Society

  • Visit the Shelter during viewing hours to see if we have a pet you might be interested in adopting.
  • Fill out and submit the adoption application form.
  • We suggest that you spend some time with the pet you choose to be sure it is right for you. We provide a private room where you can spend some time visiting with your future pet. If you are considering adopting a dog, you might even decide to take it for a walk.
  • We recommend you bring in all family members to meet your potential pet and to check for compatibility.
  • If you are still unsure if the pet is right for you and your family, you may want to consider a trial period, for the pet to briefly live with you, before you complete the final adoption process.
  • To help you care for your pet, all the veterinary clinics in Moose Jaw and Assiniboia have agreed to provide you with a free vet-check within three working days after adoption. The purpose of this exam is to ensure that the animal is in good health. In the event that a medical problem is found, the owner is given the option to return the pet to the Shelter or keep the pet and pursue any necessary treatments. The vet-check is also a great opportunity to discuss feeding, vaccination requirements, spaying or neutering and so forth.

Click here to download an adoption application.

Once you are certain that you would like to adopt the pet you have selected,
you will need to visit the Shelter to complete the paperwork.
